Karnika is a premier ship with a variety of cruise accommodation suitable for singles, doubles and small families. When you are booking cruise packages you need to provide details of your party, and the cruise ship rooms you wish to have, your preferred dates and the itinerary you wish to follow. To that extent it is no different than making a hotel reservation which is always subject to availability. Karnika has a maximum passenger capacity of well over 2,500 on a series of decks and we always aim to accommodate both your dates and the cruise ship cabins you want. Think in terms of stepping into a 5 star hotel when you get on board and this is home for the next few days. One of the real beauties of cruising is that once you have unpacked, you are taken by a cruise ship to a variety of destinations, depending on the schedule, without any questions or delays with the only formalities those required if you are docking in a foreign country for an excursion.
There are 209 cabins within the cruise ship, described as ‘’interior cabins’’ with each measuring 18 square meters and the ability to sleep up to 4 passengers. The crew will prepare your cabin accordingly based upon the intended occupancy before you arrive. These cabins are found between Decks 5 and 11, excluding the Crew only Deck 9, with handicap friendly cabins on both Deck 8 and 11.
Every cabin is suitably equipped with air conditioning, TV, private shower, wardrobe, security box, phone, fridge, complimentary toiletries and hair dryer as well as offering room service. There is a desk with its own chair as well as an armchair in the cabin.
The Sea View Cabins with large portholes are located between Decks 5 and 11, excluding Deck 9 where there are no public areas with the handicap friendly ones on Deck 8. The rooms with wheelchair access are all twins have wider doorways with no thresholds into the bathroom and more handrails within that bathroom.
There are 450 Sea View Cabins in all, sleeping up to 4 people and measuring 18 square metres each. Once again, the cabin will be ready for your arrival based upon the occupancy details you have provided when you booked. Each has a desk and chair as well as an armchair. The features of Sea View Cabins include air conditioning, TV, private shower, wardrobe, security box, phone, fridge, complimentary toiletries, hair dryer and cabin service.
Cabins with Balconies
The 162 cabins with private balconies are suitable for 2 passengers and measure 15 square metres with an additional 3 square metre balcony with 2 chairs and circular glass table. There is an armchair as well as a desk with its own chair. Each cabin is air-conditioned and includes TV, private shower, wardrobe, security box, phone, fridge, complimentary toiletries, hair dryer and cabin service. They are located on Decks 10 and 11.
Cruise Ship Suites
Karnika has 36 minisuites that can cater for up to 3 passengers and each is prepared for passengers’ arrival based upon the booking occupancy already provided. The suites each measure 32 square metres and all are found on Deck 11. There is a small 2-piece settee and 2 armchairs around a circular glass table.
Each minisuite has a private balcony and comes with air-conditioning, TV, private shower, wardrobe, security box, phone, fridge, complimentary toiletries, hair dryer and cabin service.
Karnika is fitted out to the highest possible standards. Its luxury cruises demand that and with the extensive cruise ship facilities, everyone will thoroughly enjoy the experience on board which starts as soon as you walk up the gangplank. As you approach the ship you are certain to be impressed by its size and your excitement levels are certain to rise even further.
Everything is very much 21st Century as you would expect from a ship introducing premium cruises to an Indian & Middle-East audience although anyone is welcome to come on board taking one of the cruise packages currently on offer. The cuisine covers the best of Indian regional cooking as well as other Asian and International flavours.
There is the immediate temptation to explore and get a feel for where everything is. After all, there is plenty of time to unpack later. You shouldn’t get lost at any point with plenty of directions on board. If the ship is ready to sail, you may want to head up on deck to see it leave port.
The cruise ship facilities include a Medical Centre on Deck 4 which is staffed with fully registered nurses and doctors to cover the health of the passengers. Anyone with pre-existing medical conditions should bring medication and prescriptions with them of course. Medical emergencies are covered 24/7 naturally.
Every passenger will be pleased if they have no need to use the Centre, but the other facilities are all part of the experience of cruising:
- Deck 14 is where the Health Spa and Salon is located. As well as facials and massages, you can enjoy reflexology, acupuncture and even have your teeth whitened. You can soak up the sun outside but also have body scrubs, spray tans and hair styling on a daily basis if you make an appointment.
The sauna and steam rooms are nearby with the Fitness Centre available for anyone over 16. There is expert fitness staff there to oversee its use as well as guidance if you have never used anything similar before.
Deck 14 is also where you should head later in the day if you want to see a latest film or enjoy the DJ’s music in the Dome.
- Deck 12 is where you will find two swimming pool, a bar and a number of Karnika’s many restaurants.
